About Misti

A West Virginia native, Misti has a love for all things beautiful, especially weddings. Misti has a true passion for creating beautiful and unique events and the owner of Little Black Dress Events.

Misti began her journey in 2000 when she assumed the roll of Event Coordinator at a luxury Country Club in Wilmington, NC and Charlotte, NC. She had found her passion and after 10 years she made the decision to move back to her home state.

You can always find her laughing at herself and making up random words and phrases throughout an event day. Her bubbly personality and contagious laugh set the tone for her unique event planning business which focuses on the exciting and memorable events surrounding her clients ’ Big Day!

Misti’s Favorite Things

Running. Brunch. Porch nights with her husband and little boy. Food. Wine. And making everyday something to genuinely celebrate.

Rock N Roll Bride, Borrowed and Blue, along with West Virginia Weddings Magazine. Misti has also been awarded “Best of West Virginia” for Wedding and Event Planning the past several years. Along with, "Generation Next 40 under 40"  by -The WV Sate Journal, and was a “2018 WV Wonder Woman” via WV Living Magazine for her event planning business, her passion for raising awareness for adoption, multiple sclerosis, and dyslexia.

About Devon - Lead Planner + Event Manager - Charlotte, NC

Devon is a West Virginia native who began working with Misti and Little Black Dress Events in West Virginia in 2013. He has been professionally trained and has worked beside Misti and her team for over a decade. Devon has learned the true “brand” and what it means to be a part of the LBD family. In 2023, he decided to move to Charlotte. Quickly after, became the discussions about expanding LBD to the Charlotte region since North Carolina is where Misti initially got her start in the industry and holds a special place in her heart. Devon has over 10 years of wedding planning experience, in multiple aspects of the industry making his knowledge well rounded on the ins and outs of the industry. He has received his Certification as an Advanced Wedding Planner and Stylist, along with completing a Certification in South Asian Indian Weddings. He also has a background in Hospitality Sales Management.

When Devon isn’t busy making dreams come true, he enjoys being outdoors, taking adventures, spending time with friends and family, and being a dog dad to his girl, Bella. He also enjoy yoga, anything that involves food, vino, or especially….. brunch.
